Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. The journal expects all authors, reviewers, editors, and other participants in the publication process to uphold principles of honesty, transparency, accountability, academic integrity, and respect for research participants.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts represent original work, that all sources are appropriately acknowledged, and that the research has been conducted in accordance with applicable ethical and professional standards. Manuscripts must not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, inappropriate image manipulation, or other forms of research or publication misconduct.

Authors are also expected to disclose relevant conflicts of interest, provide appropriate information regarding funding and ethical approval where applicable, and ensure that all individuals who have made substantial contributions to the work are appropriately recognized.

Editors and reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, maintain confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and contribute to a fair, transparent, and unbiased publication process.

MEJHMS reserves the right to investigate suspected ethical or publication misconduct and to take appropriate action when necessary, including manuscript rejection, correction, retraction, or other measures consistent with recognized standards of scholarly publishing.

Peer Review

The Middle East Journal of Health and Medical Sciences (MEJHMS) applies a rigorous peer-review process to evaluate the scientific quality, originality, relevance, clarity, and methodological soundness of submitted manuscripts.

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal's aims and scope and their compliance with basic submission requirements. Manuscripts that meet these requirements are subsequently evaluated by qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

The journal uses a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential during the review process, where practicable.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and scientifically justified evaluations and to identify potential ethical, methodological, or reporting concerns. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and should not use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.

The final editorial decision is based on the reviewers' assessments, the scientific quality of the manuscript, and the overall suitability of the work for MEJHMS. The journal may request revisions before reaching a final decision.
