MEJHMS welcomes scientific contributions from a broad range of disciplines within health and medical sciences, including medicine, clinical sciences, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, nursing, dentistry, public health, medical laboratory sciences, medical physics, radiology, oncology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, nutrition, health informatics, and related fields.

The journal encourages original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, review articles, clinical studies, case reports, short communications, and letters to the editor, particularly studies that provide meaningful scientific evidence, innovative approaches, or practical solutions to current health and medical challenges.

MEJHMS aims to foster multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, encourage collaboration among researchers and healthcare professionals, and facilitate the translation of scientific findings into practical applications that can contribute to better health outcomes and improved quality of life.

Aims and Scope

The Middle East Journal of Health and Medical Sciences (MEJHMS) welcomes original research, reviewing articles, meta-analyses, short communications, case reports, clinical studies, and other scholarly contributions across a broad range of health, medical, biomedical, and clinical sciences.

·         Pharmacology: Studies the interactions between drugs and biological systems & investigates the chemical properties, mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, therapeutic applications, drug safety, and development of pharmaceutical agents.

·         Genetics: Investigates genetic variation, inheritance, and molecular genetics & examines the role of genes in human health and disease, including genetic disorders, genomics, molecular mechanisms of disease, and genetic and genomic medicine.

·         Neuroscience: Investigates the structure, function, development, and disorders of the nervous system & focuses on the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological functions and diseases.

·         Tissue Engineering: Involves the development of biological substitutes and engineering approaches for repairing, regenerating, or replacing damaged tissues and organs & integrates principles of biomedical sciences, biomaterials, cellular biology, and engineering technologies.

·         Regenerative Medicine: Explores approaches for restoring or regenerating damaged tissues and organs & includes the use of cells, stem cells, biomaterials, growth factors, tissue engineering, and related therapeutic strategies.

·         Immunology: Examines the immune system and its interactions with pathogens and other biological factors & investigates immune mechanisms, immunological disorders, inflammation, immunization, autoimmunity, and host–pathogen interactions.

·         Oncology: Studies cancer across its biological, clinical, and translational dimensions & focuses on cancer development, prevention, diagnosis, progression, metastasis, molecular mechanisms, therapeutic approaches, and interactions between tumors and their microenvironment.

·         Dentistry: Involves the study of the structure, function, development, and diseases of the teeth, oral cavity, and associated structures & investigates the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of oral and dental diseases.

·         Medical Physics: Applies principles and methods of physics to medicine and healthcare & includes medical imaging, radiation therapy, dosimetry, radiation protection, medical instrumentation, biomedical imaging, and the biological effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

·         Biomedical Sciences: Investigates the biological, molecular, cellular, and chemical foundations of human health and disease & encompasses medical biochemistry, clinical chemistry, toxicology, hematology, molecular biology, cell biology, bioinorganic and bio-coordination chemistry, and related biomedical disciplines.

·         Medical Microbiology: Studies microorganisms and their interactions with humans and biological systems & focuses on bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, microbial genetics, microbial pathogenesis, clinical microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, infectious diseases, and host–microbe interactions.
